What Raise-to-Wake Does
Raise-to-wake turns on your watch screen automatically when you lift your wrist toward your face—so you can check the time, notifications, or stats without pressing any buttons.
On Yoho Smartwatch Sports, this feature usually relies on the watch’s motion sensors. If it feels too sensitive (screen turns on too often) or not sensitive enough (screen stays dark), it can often be improved with better settings and wearing position.
Where to Enable Raise-to-Wake
Raise-to-wake can be controlled from one (or both) of these places, depending on your watch model:
-
On the watch: Settings menu on the device itself
-
In the Yoho app (Android): Device settings / gesture settings
If you don’t see it in one place, check the other.
Enable Raise-to-Wake on the Watch

Menu names vary, but the feature is usually under Settings or Display.
-
Wake the watch screen and open the Menu.
-
Find Settings.
-
Look for one of these options:
-
Raise to Wake
-
Wrist Raise
-
Wrist Gesture
-
Screen Wake
-
-
Turn it ON.
-
Exit settings, then test by lifting your wrist naturally.
Quick Test Method
-
Let your arm hang down for 3–5 seconds.
-
Raise your wrist toward your face in one smooth motion.
-
The screen should light up within about 1 second.
Enable Raise-to-Wake in the Yoho App (Android)

If your model manages gestures through the app:
-
Open the Yoho app on Android.
-
Go to Device (or My Device / Settings).
-
Find Raise-to-wake / Wrist gesture.
-
Turn it ON.
-
Sync the settings to the watch (if there’s a sync button, tap it once).
If the Setting Doesn’t “Stick”
If you turn it on but it keeps turning off:
-
Keep the watch close to the phone during sync.
-
Ensure the watch is shown as Connected inside the app.
-
Reopen the app and check again.
Make Raise-to-Wake Work Better
1) Wear the Watch in the Best Position
Raise-to-wake triggers more reliably when the watch is stable on your wrist.
-
Wear it snug (no sliding).
-
Position it 1–2 finger widths above the wrist bone.
-
Avoid wearing it over thick sleeves that cause wobbling.
A loose strap is one of the most common reasons the screen fails to wake consistently.
2) Adjust Screen Timeout for Comfort
Raise-to-wake turns the screen on—screen timeout controls how long it stays on.
Recommended:
-
5–10 seconds for everyday use
-
Shorter timeouts save battery and reduce “accidental glow” moments
If your screen turns on but goes dark too fast, increase timeout slightly.
3) Use a “Natural Lift” Motion
Many people test raise-to-wake with exaggerated motions that confuse the sensor.
For best results:
-
Lift your wrist smoothly, like checking the time.
-
Avoid rapid flicks or twisting the wrist sharply.
-
Keep your forearm angle natural (as if reading a watch).
4) Avoid False Triggers
Raise-to-wake may trigger during:
-
Driving (steering wheel hand movement)
-
Sports with frequent arm swings
-
Work activities (typing, lifting items, cleaning)
If the screen turns on too often, consider turning it off temporarily during these activities.
Smart Usage: Save Battery Without Losing Convenience
Raise-to-wake is convenient, but it can increase battery drain because the screen activates more often.
Balanced approach:
-
Keep raise-to-wake ON during the day.
-
Turn it OFF at night to prevent accidental wake-ups while sleeping.
-
Pair it with a short screen timeout and moderate brightness.
If your watch supports a schedule, use it to enable the feature only during your active hours.
Troubleshooting: Raise-to-Wake Not Working
Problem A: The Screen Never Wakes When You Raise Your Wrist
Try this checklist:
-
Confirm it’s enabled (watch settings and/or Yoho app).
-
Tighten the strap and move the watch slightly above the wrist bone.
-
Restart the watch (power off/on if supported).
-
Reconnect:
-
Turn Bluetooth off/on on your Android phone
-
Reopen Yoho app and confirm the watch is connected
-
-
Update firmware/app if available (new versions may fix gesture bugs).
If it still doesn’t work, your specific watch version may not support raise-to-wake, or it may only support it under certain modes.
Problem B: It Works Sometimes, But Feels Unreliable
Common causes and fixes:
-
Loose strap: tighten for stability
-
Wrong placement: move higher on the wrist
-
Cold conditions: warm up first (cold skin can reduce sensor reliability)
-
Low battery: charge the watch—some devices reduce features when battery is low
Problem C: The Screen Turns On Too Often
Reduce accidental wake-ups:
-
Turn on shorter screen timeout
-
Lower brightness
-
Disable raise-to-wake while driving, working out, or doing repetitive arm tasks
-
If available, switch gesture sensitivity to Low or Normal
Troubleshooting: Raise-to-Wake Works, But Notifications Don’t Show
Raise-to-wake only wakes the screen; it doesn’t guarantee notifications are flowing.
If you see only the watch face:
-
Check notification permissions in Android for the Yoho app
-
Ensure the Yoho app can run in the background (battery optimization can block notification delivery)
-
Re-sync the watch after changing settings
Recommended Setup (Comfort + Battery Friendly)
A practical configuration for most users:
-
Raise-to-wake: ON (daytime)
-
Screen timeout: 5–10 seconds
-
Brightness: Low/Medium
-
Night: Raise-to-wake OFF or enable DND/silent mode if available
